On-Line Teaching

Definition

The use of the World Wide Web or email for the dissemination of teaching and learning materials, information about assessment, and administrative information.

Advantages

  • Extends access to materials and information across time and space so that learners can choose how and when to access the material
  • Learners access the most recent version of on-line material as they require it

Disadvantages

  • Technological requirements for access may restrict equal participation by some learners
  • Opportunities for face to face group learning experiences are limited
