Social Program
The social program includes a welcome reception,conference dinner and free tours. All are included in the registration fee. An optional lunch has been arranged for Saturday 6 July (additional fee).
- Welcome Reception-· Reception/cocktail party at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery,
Wednesday 3 July 2002- 6.00-8.30pm
- Conference Dinner-The conference dinner will be held at the Perth Zoo. During pre-dinner drinks there will be an opportunity to visit Australian native animals in a natural bush setting. Guides will be in attendance to provide information and answer questions.
Thursday 4 July 2002- 6.30-11.00pm
- Lunch at Matilda Bay Restaurant-Optional lunch at Matilda Bay Restaurant. The restaurant is situated on the foreshore of the Swan River opposite the University with stunning views across the river to Perth city and Kings Park. Cost AUS$35.00 per person
Saturday 6 July 2002- 1.00-2.30pm- Reserve your seat (and for accompanying person) on the registration form. It may still be possible to take extra bookings for this lunch. Please check at the Registration Desk.
- Friday Evening Optional Social Activities
- No formal activites have been organised for the evening of Friday 5 July however, delegates may wish to enjoy dinner together at various local restaurants. Assistance in choosing a restaurant and organising a group will be provided fron the Registration Desk.
- Walking Tour-Walking tours of the University of Western Australia campus including historical information about the University

Tours departing registration venue and taking approximately 45 minutes.
- Environmental Walking Tour-Environmental walking tour of The University of Western Australia
Saturday 6 July 2002- 2.45-3.30pm- Tours departing from the option lunch venue..
- Berndt Museum of Anthropology Tour-An opportunity to see the museum's extensive collections of Australian Aboriginal art and Aboriginal cultural materials, as well as collections from Melanesia, Asia and South-East Asia. Many of these items may now be viewed online in their Virtual Museum. The Berndt Museum is located at the University close to the conference venue

An organised tour of the museum will depart from the Registration Desk at 3.50pm Wednesday 3 July - Entry is free.
- E. de C. Clarke Geology Museum-The Museum is located in the picturesque grounds of the University of Western.Australia, near Winthrop Hall. Step back in time as you pass through an "Eocene Grove" at the entrance of the Museum. This garden consists entirely of plant varieties known to have flourished in Australia 38-55 million years ago. As you enter the Museum you will be transported even further back in time to the birth of our planet some 4,600 million years ago.

- Kings Park & University Tour by tram-The tram departs from the university four times a day and travels to Kings Park, which is approximately 400 hectares of natural bush land close to the University and Perth city
